The Story

Drawing inspiration from the nose art of World War I, this design features a winged skull & crossed bones are meticulously hand-painted with a weathered look.

Winged Skull 1918 Tote Bag -REMAKE©- is hand-painted. Furthermore, the fabric is from a vintage German military duffle bag. Like any vintage item, the bag has signs of wear and stains.

1. 1. Repurposed from a used thick canvas military German duffle bag canvas.
   2. Sewed and fixed a large hole in the front of the bag (which was included in the winged skull design).
   3. Repurposed handle from a different vintage military bag.
   4. The inside pocket was repurposed from the duffle bag’s inner separator
   5. Fully hand-painted and drawn of a winged skull with a vintage weathering
   6. Fully hand-painted lucky 13, heart of Spade
   7. Distressed with paint and sandpaper.
   8. Intentional distressing and imperfections for an authentic look
   9. Handmade and painted lucky 13, heart of Spade keychain.

Hand Hand-Painted Story Labels

Winged Skull 1918 Tote Bag Tote Bag has its unique label tag from l’Atelier. The tag is numbered with the bag’s unique serial number and has a red wax handmade quality control seal. On the back of the label tag are two other stapled tags: one for the -REMAKE©- list and one for measurements.

Hand Painted Packaging

Packaging is the last and most important part of the design process. Since all my items are hand-painted, applying the same method to their packaging is natural.
I spray painted the 88th Company logo on a beautiful large brown bag on a custom stencil. After inserting the custom item inside the bag, it is folded and closed with a vintage twine string. Finally, like a top-secret letter, the string knot is sealed with a custom wax seal.
