The Story

 This Catalina isn’t just any aircraft—it belongs to the fictional Skull and Crossbones Squadron, a renegade crew of veteran aviators turned guardians of the Pacific. These ex-military pilots now fly under their own code, using their skill, grit, and old warbirds to protect forgotten islands, intercept smugglers, and keep the peace far from mainland eyes.

Each bag in this series carries a piece of that story—sun-soaked, hand-painted, and handmade with love for history.

Vintage Catalina Tote – Coconut Carnage Edition -REMAKE©-

This rare vintage tote, hand-sewn and likely dating back to the 1950s or earlier, features a hand-painted PBY Catalina resting quietly on tropical waters beneath a sleepy volcano—where warbird legacy meets island serenity.

1. Long hours are spent searching flea markets and vintage stores to find the perfect canvas.
2. Each piece is thoroughly cleaned and repaired as needed.
3. Features a fully hand-painted and illustrated Consolidated PBY Catalina, set in a serene tropical environment.
4. Painted with a special distressed patina effect for a weathered, vintage look.
5. Includes intentional distressing and imperfections to enhance authenticity and character.
6. Comes with a handmade, hand-painted Hula Dancer pendant—plus a keychain adorned with beads and seashells.
7. “Coconut Carnage” is hand-stenciled on the inner lining.
8. Hand-sewn initials read: L. H. for Lieutenant Henry.
9. Light vintage 100% cotton fabric.

Hand Hand-Painted Story Labels

Vintage Catalina Tote – Coconut Carnage Edition -REMAKE©- has its unique label tag from l’Atelier. The tag is numbered with the bag’s unique serial number and has a red wax handmade quality control seal. On the back of the label tag are two other stapled tags: one for the -REMAKE©- list and one for measurements.

Hand Painted Packaging

Packaging is the last and most important part of the design process. Since all my items are hand-painted, applying the same method to their packaging is natural.
I spray painted the 88th Company logo on a beautiful large brown bag on a custom stencil. After inserting the custom item inside the bag, it is folded and closed with a vintage twine string. Finally, like a top-secret letter, the string knot is sealed with a custom wax seal.
