Description

The Story

My Name is Berkley! I like to ride my bike along the West Coast! I ride my very special grandfather’s red and black 1940s Model 640 Indian Sport Scout! She rides like a charm! My Grandfather, Berkley Senior, rode this very bike in 1939 before he enlisted to fight in WW2. He was a B-17 bomber pilot and an American hero! Ever since I was a kid, my father told me all the stories about the Mighty Eighth and how my grandfather flew several missions with his B-17 bomber over Europe. When I ride, I like to have his story on my back, chest, and heart! So, I fully customized an old-looking denim vest to honor him and all the veterans of the Mighty Eighth. I like how distressed and rugged it looks! It’s a perfect match for my red Indian motorcycle and my style!

Always remember and never forget; I wear my grandfather’s story with pride!

Back Painting

I painted the Mighty Eighth title on the top. In the middle, I added the B17 bomber, with background clouds, and at the bottom the kills. For this project, I opted for a simpler painting to fit the biker’s look and style.

Hand Painted Story Labels

This Mighty Eighth Distressed Denim Biker Vest has its unique label tag from l’Atelier. The tag is numbered with the vest’s unique serial number and has a red wax handmade quality control seal. On the back of the label tag are my full story notes written by hand and hand-painted with watercolors. There are two other stapled tags: one for the -REMAKE©- list and one for measurements.

Certificate

Each of the wearable art pieces will come with a certificate personally signed by me and with its serial number. This certificate certifies that this piece was handmade at L’ATELIER at 88th Company. It has your name and the serial number of the art piece.

Each art piece is unique and is not duplicated.

Hand Painted Packaging

Packaging is the last and most important part of the design process. Since all my items are hand-painted, it’s only natural to have the same method applied to their packaging.
On a beautiful large brown bag, I spray paint the 88th Company logo on a custom stencil. After inserting the custom item inside the bag, it is folded and closed with a vintage twine string. Finally, like a top-secret letter, the string knot is sealed with a custom wax seal.
